New, Lower Cost (Even Free!) Licensing Options
for both CourseForum and ProjectForum

Released 1/13/2003.

Coinciding with the 1.2 releases of both its educational and workgroup collaboration products, CourseForum Technologies is pleased to announce new and improved licensing plans: larger standard licenses, reduced licensing fees, new educational discounts, and a new free version of both products.

New versions. CourseForum, the company's flagship software for e-learning content creation, sharing and discussion, and ProjectForum, providing flexible collaboration and coordination for workgroup projects, have both been revved to version 1.2. New features include support for larger numbers of courses, templates for creating new pages, enhancements to administration, and improved support for small group projects.

Larger standard licenses. New standard licenses have been introduced, allowing collaboration for up to fifty courses or workgroups, complementing the existing single or ten course/workgroup licenses. Arrangements can also be made for even larger licenses.

Reduced licensing fees. Effective immediately, the licensing fees for both products have been reduced. ProjectForum is now available for $199 (single group), $699 (ten groups), and $1499 (fifty groups). Fees for CourseForum have been reduced even further, with the introduction of large educational discounts. CourseForum licenses are $79 (one course), $299 (ten courses), and $699 (fifty courses). All prices are in US$, and include one year of free updates. As always, free time-limited demo licenses are available at the web site.

Free version. Alongside the regular licenses, a new free version of both products has been introduced, providing basic collaboration support for a single course or workgroup. While some of the advanced features of the full products are not available in the free versions, there are no time limits or restrictions on amount of content that can be created. The free versions are reasonable options to consider for real, extended deployment.

More information. CourseForum and ProjectForum can be hosted on MacOS X, Windows, Linux or FreeBSD, and are accessed exclusively via users' web browsers. Both products can be freely downloaded at http://www.courseforum.com.
