CourseForum Adds New "Campus Licensing" Option for E-Learning Collaboration

Released 4/20/2004.

CourseForum Technologies has introduced a new "Campus Licensing" option for CourseForum, its e-learning collaboration software. The new license adds more options for colleges and universities to provide their instructors with powerful, flexible and easy-to-use web-based forums for e-learning content creation, sharing and discussion.

Easier to use and more interactive than conventional forum software, and less complex and admin-heavy than a full-blown Learning Management System, CourseForum provides a painless, straightforward and flexible solution for posting and sharing course materials, class discussions and student collaboration. It can be used for lecture notes, Q&A;, discussion topics, research, student portfolios, group projects and more.

While instructors running smaller numbers of courses appreciate the flexibility of the existing per-course licensing model (featuring no user limits and the option of allowing unregistered users into courses), the new per-registered-user, unlimited-course Campus licensing model will prove attractive for larger sites running many courses. A "single signin" feature allows the same account to be used everywhere the user has access, simplifying both usage and administration. Upcoming versions will also integrate with existing campus user accounts and directory services.

Easy to use and learn, CourseForum is hosted on Windows 98/ME/NT/2000/XP, Mac OS X, Linux or other Unixes, while users need only their existing web browser on any platform. Campus licenses start at US$500 for 250 users.
