ProjectForum 4.0: Professional Wiki Collaboration Made Easy

Released 11/08/2004.

WATERLOO, Ont. - CourseForum Technologies is pleased to announce the immediate availability of ProjectForum 4.0, a major update to its web-based software providing professional and easy-to-use online workspaces for a team's work and collaboration.

Inspired by the new generation of wikis, weblogs, bulletin boards and other grassroots online tools, ProjectForum brings together just the right mix of power, flexibility and ease of use to help busy professionals work together more effectively. ProjectForum's wiki-style forums help groups focus their collaboration, filling the gap between the scattered flurry of email and the time and expense of meetings or teleconferences.

ProjectForum is available either as a fully managed hosted service, or as software that can be downloaded and run in-house — without the complex installation pitfalls inherent in most wiki or web software. Anyone can have ProjectForum running in a matter of minutes, with no webmaster, no code, and no IT help needed. Versions are available for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and other Unixes, while users of the software need only a standard web browser.

Version 4.0 is a major update. The new weblog-style top posting option for comments, and the ability to easily create named links, make collaborating on content even easier. New archiving facilities, including a new static HTML export, provide more ways to distribute or record a group's work records. This version includes many other enhancements and changes throughout the software.

ProjectForum hosting starts at US$20 a month, while downloadable versions start at US$229, with a free version also available. For more information, or to download it or try it live, visit www.projectforum.com.
